Position Summary

The HR Intern will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Support multi-facet Human Resources (HR) functions leading employee relations; as well as recruitment, compliance, payroll, and performance management.  This individual will be imbedded within the Motion Technologies HR team in Novi, MI. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to make a contribution and to have the full accountability of HR in a growing environment. This is a part time Fall internship from September-December.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintains excellent relationships with both direct business partners and peripheral departments
  • Identifies necessary resources and sourcing methodology to speed up the acquisition of talents
  • Deals with organizational analysis or change, from the drafting of organization charts to the proposal of optimal organization solutions
  • Maintains and communicates out on key HR metrics and reports
  • Maintains employee data in HRIS System
  • Manages performance functions including annual performance review process
  • Manages local recruitment cycle from sourcing to on-boarding
  • Proactively makes recommendations to improve HR operations and value added to business operations
  • Additional responsibilities and assignment to be assigned as needed by management

Position Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in human resources with a graduation date of May 2025 or later
  • Ability to work part time, 20 hours per week during the 2024 Fall semester.
  • Ability to frequently travel domestically, estimated 20% travel.
  • Exceptional employee relation skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management and project prioritization skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
