Position Summary

Position: Data Analytics / AI Intern (Summer 2027)

Major(s): Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Analytics, or equivalent - Junior or Senior year desired

Internship Schedule:  May to August 2027, full-time, 40 hours per week

 

About the experience: The Data Analytics Intern will support the development of business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role works closely with IT, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop dashboards, analyze enterprise data, and identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has an interest in data analytics and business intelligence, with experience or coursework in data visualization, SQL, Power Automate, and / or data modeling.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and recurring analytics reports.
  • Gather and document business requirements by collaborating with IT, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret data from various enterprise data sources to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
  • Validate report logic, data accuracy, and dashboard functionality with business users.
  • Review existing reporting processes in legacy Excel / MS Access and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and automation.
  • Assist with transforming manual reports and ad hoc data requests into standardized, repeatable dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Ability to understand data architectures for relational databases in different systems, primarily ERPs
  • Ability to leverage AI solutions to develop, maintain, or complement dashboard creation or functional specification creation
  • Support the development of AI-assisted prototypes and practical automation solutions for knowledge search, service analytics, and operational reporting.
  • Document data sources, business requirements, reporting processes, governance considerations, and recommended next steps.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of analytics and AI opportunities based on business value and data readiness.
  • Present project outcomes, key findings, and recommendations to IT and business stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.

Position Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Analytics in good standing
  • Knowledge of basic Power BI (or Tableau) and Power Automate
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL preferred but not mandatory 
  • Previous ERP knowledge and navigational ability a plus

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

The hourly range for this role is $28.00 to $33.00
